It is often said that once a camera’s sensor is chosen, the raw image formation pipeline is fixed. In this post, same-sensor-different-camera comparison was performed to show that this is not always the case.
Same Sensor Different Camera Comparison… and a Surprise Read More »
From theory to practice – via a microscope system we give practical examples of the details of alignment procedure design process
A Practical Example for Optical Alignment Procedure Read More »
The alignment procedure of an optical system could be the make-or-break for the design and the system’s existence in general. In this post we uncover the ins and outs of the optical alignment processes
Optical Alignment Procedure Is As Important As The Optical Design Read More »
AI models are a part of engineering nowadays. To conclude our System Requirements post-series we give the task of writing our sysreq to a couple of AI models and analyze the surprising results.
The Ultimate System Requirements Example – AI vs. Human Read More »
Requirement Hierarchy is of the utmost importance in any requirements document — and especially so in the System Requirements document — making it the main topic of this post. With that, we conclude our discussion of the System Requirements document.
The Ultimate Example of System Requirements Document – Requirement Hierarchy Read More »
Eventually, System Requirements have to be documented. In this post we will cover the document itself – structure, contents and all of its ins and outs with a practical example to better clarify these characteristics.
The Ultimate Example of System Requirements – The Document Read More »
The quest for System Requirements for our laser cutting machine example continues. In this post we go through the initial iteration to get to the Go-To System Design
The Ultimate Example for System Requirements – Initial Go-To Design Read More »
We take on the challenge of an end-to-end example for System Requirement formulation. In this first post out of 5-part series we explore the initial steps towards the System Requirements for a Laser Cutting Machine example.

The Hubble Space Telescope is in orbit, we already know what the problem is – now let’s fix it. In this third and final post in this series we explore the system engineering point of view of the HST’s spherical aberration correction
What Paved the Way to Fix the Hubble Space Telescope Read More »
In this second post out of 3 post series we explore what led to the Hubble Space Telescope resolution drop and what engineering lessons we can all learn from this case
What Went Wrong with the Hubble Space Telescope Initially Read More »
The story of the Hubble Space Telescope is a very interesting one. An amazing project that provided deep-space images for over 30 years but not without its issues and challenges. In this first out of three posts we explore the initial requirements and design of the telescope
